China first 5G phone call got through
April 2 -- China mobile launched its first 5G phone call with zte on Tuesday, which means a trillion-yuan industry has begun.However, for commercial terminals, it is expected to be available until the second half of 2019.
Both Guangzhou and Shenzhen were involved in the 5G experiment.The first 5G phone call was conducted in guangzhou.The city also opened the first 5G test base station in China.
It is understood that the international standardization organization 3GPP officially froze the first 5G standard in last December, namely 3GPP R15 version.The 5G base station, core network and test terminal used in this test are all based on the 3GPP R15 standard.
The progress of commercial 5G mobile phones depends on the process of 5G international standards.Liu duo, director of the China information and communications research institute, said that the first international standard for 5G will be completed in June this year, with less than two years to go before the 2020 commercial industry.She thinks 5G mobile terminals should be the latest and hardest.She expects real 5G mobile terminals to be relatively mature in the second half of 2019.
Huang yuhong, vice President of the China mobile research institute, said during the introduction of the third phase of 5G that the 5G commercial terminal chip is expected to be officially launched in the first half of 2018.
